Police stop driver for going nearly 100 km/h over posted speed limit near Carleton University

An Ottawa driver who was nabbed for going almost 160 km/h in a 60 km/h zone near Carleton University is facing impaired driving and stunt driving charges.

In a post to X, the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) said an officer was conducting a speed enforcement in the area of Bronson Avenue and Sunnyside Drive in Saturday, Nov. 11.

The driver was driving 158 km/h, and according to police, was impaired.

The driver has been charged with impaired driving and stunt driving, and their vehicle is impounded for 14 days. Their driver’s license is now suspended for 30 days.
