OPP seize over $100K worth of drugs during traffic stop in South Dundas Township

Three people are facing drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop on Wednesday, Dec. 13.

OPP said on X, the vehicle was stopped excessive speeding on Highway 401 in the South Dundas Township Wednesday evening.

During the stop, police seized drugs, including cocaine, with a street value of over $100,000.

A photo on social media showed a mask and other items police seized.

Adrian Cargioli, 30, of Toronto, is charged with

  • Possession for the purpose of distributing.
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada.
  • Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
  • Breach of recognizance
  • Drive motor vehicle – perform stunt – excessive speed.
  • Possession of an identity document

Malcom Morris, 30, of Kingston is charged with:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance- cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of distributing.
  • Possession of a schedule I substance- cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin)
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 – in Canada.

Douglas Hitchen, 66, from Bowmanville, is charged with.

  • Possession for the purpose of distributing.
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000 – in Canada.

All three accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
