A driver was pulled from their vehicle by firefighters following a collision near Kanata on Tuesday afternoon.
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to the scene of the single-vehicle crash in the 1900 block of Marchhurst Road just after 2:30 p.m.
There were initial reports that a driver had crashed their vehicle into a pole and that the vehicle had come to a stop in a ditch.
Crews arrived and confirmed a hydro pole had been broken in half and was hanging by wires.
The vehicle was right side up in the ditch with the driver trapped inside.

Firefighters quickly stabilized the vehicle and assessed the driver, who was safely extricated through the back window on a backboard at 2:52 p.m.
Firefighters used the backboard to carry the driver up the embankment and place them in the care of the Ottawa Paramedic Service.
OFS cleared the scene at 3:13 and left it in the control of the Ottawa Police Service. (OPS).
