Ottawa police in search of suspect in New Year’s Eve assault

Following an assault in downtown Ottawa on Dec. 31, 2024, the Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Central Criminal Investigation Section is seeking public assistance in identifying the suspect.

According to OPS, the assault took place in the Lyon Street North and Albert Street area at approximately 11:30 p.m. The victim did not incur serious injuries, OPS wrote in a news release.

Officials describe the suspect as a white female, around 20 to 30 years old, with blonde hair.

She was reported wearing a long, white winter jacket and carrying a black bag, at the time of the incident.
