A teen is in hospital with serious injuries after a dirt bike crash on a trail northwest of Calabogie, Ont.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said that the 15-year-old boy was on his way to school when around 8:45 a.m. he crashed on the K&P Trail near Ashdad Road. This portion of the Valley is mostly remote and the gravel trail spans several kilometres.
Renfrew County Paramedics were on scene when OPP arrived and sent the teen to a trauma centre via Ornge Air Ambulance. Officials described the youth’s injuries as “very serious” but non-life-threatening.
OPP said that the boy’s parents found him.
The 15-year-old had been riding alone with no other vehicles around or involved in the crash. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, police detailed.
The investigation by Renfrew OPP is continuing, with assistance from an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and Technical Collision Investigator from the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team.
