OTTAWA – If you hear the sound of gunfire echoing through the streets of downtown Ottawa Monday, don’t worry, it’s all part of the act.
As part of Canada Day celebrations, the local army reserve unit 30th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery, will be firing two 21-gun salutes on Parliament Hill.
Each salute will last about four minutes.
They are slated for 12:10 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Residents are reminded that there is no danger to the public as the salutes are purely ceremonial.
The artillery will be firing rounds of blank ammunition.
