Bluesfest wraps another successful year

OTTAWA – Thousands of music lovers got their fill at RBC Royal Bank Bluesfest this year!

The grounds of Lebreton Flats were packed with people braving the heat for the final day Sunday, as the annual festival wrapped up almost two weeks of live music.

Performances on the Bell Stage Sunday included: Alice In Chains and Dog Blood (Skrillex and Boys Noize). The Claridge Homes Stage hosted Serena Ryder and B.B. King.

This year’s festival, dubbed “Take Me to the River,” had no shortage of great acts including, Zac Brown Band, The Tragically Hip, The Black Keys, Dixie Chicks, Great Big Sea, Bjork, Tegan and Sara, Matt Good, Weezer and Rush.

On average, 25,000 people took in the festival daily. More than 3,000 volunteers helped make this year a success.
