Hydro Ottawa looks to hike rates

Ottawa Hydro is asking the provincial energy board for permission to hike rates this year.
The utility has filed an application to increase rates based on how much electricity you consume.
A home that uses far less electricity a month than average would see their bill rise by approximately 38-cents more a month while a home that uses much more than average could see their bill rise by 75-cents a month.
If approved- the rate increase would take effect may 1.
Ottawa Hydro says they will know sometime in April if the board approves the increase.
