Ottawa man convicted of second degree murder

A 26-year-old Ottawa man has been convicted of second degree murder. Lee Tyler Batson has been found guilty of killing Paul Marcelus.

Marcelus was shot and killed in a Sandy Hill apartment in mid-December, 2008. The jury rejected Batson’s claims it was self-defence.

Batson will get an automatic life sentence. The judge will decide when he will be eligible for parole.
