Robertson signs off at CTV for last time

Veteran CTV anchorman Lloyd Robertson has ended a 35-year reign in the anchor chair of the network’s flagship newscast.
He started his last newscast on C-T-V last night by saying — quote– “good evening one last time.”
The 77-year-old anchorman ended the broadcast with his trademark “that’s the kind of day it’s been.”
Robertson did take a few minutes at the end of the newscast to reminisce about the stories he’s handled; the natural disasters, Olympics and royal weddings.
He called it a rare privilege to have “a front row seat to history.”
Prime Minister Harper and the other federal party leaders wished him well in pre-taped messages.
Robertson’s run is the longest for a national network news anchor in North America.
He’ll be succeeded by Lisa LaFlamme, but says he will continue to contribute to the news magazine series “W5.”
