LISTEN: Audit finds OC Transpo electric bus pilot project moved too fast to analyze performance testing data

By CityNews Ottawa

An early-stage audit of Ottawa's plan to electrify OC Transpo's bus fleet has found that the $1-billion procurement process moved too quickly to properly study key performance testing data before the fleet rapidly expands in the coming years.

“We found that the timeline they had would not allow the City to gather sufficient learnings across all four seasons. It would also only give them limited time to analyze climate, range, and charging performance,” said City of Ottawa Auditor General, Nathalie Gougeon.

Listen to the full segment of The Rob Snow Show with Nathalie Gougeon on Wednesday, March 23 as they discuss the findings of a new report submitted to city council below.
