Hour 1:

Tuesday. The inquiry into the infamous triple femicide that shocked the Ottawa Valley in 2015 is into its second day.

12:11 – “What more can we do to make sure that people aren't allowed to move about in this way, ingoring conditions that are imposed on them and ultimately to avoid the possibility of a situation like the one that took place in Renfrew County on that day.”

Listen to part one of Rob's conversation with Kirsten Mercer, a lawyer representing one of three groups granted standing in the coroner's inquest into a 2015 triple femicide in Renfrew County.

21:32 – “This is nonsense, people. Nonsense. They're using the pretext, the excuse of the arena…that's a public policy problem, it has nothing to do with him building three concrete jungle towers in a public park.”

Professor Ian Lee joins Rob for their weekly discussion, today focusing on the Professor's impassioned defence of Landsdowne as a public asset in the City of Ottawa.

Hour 3:

0:00 – “Continuation with the weakness of the Canadian dollar, that's another 24 cents a litre to 26 cents a litre. So added to what you're paying today…$2.30 is, I hate to use the term, but a no-brainer.”

Rob is joined by gas price guru Dan McTeague who has some troubling news about what a litre of gasoline could cost by Canada Day.

12:05 – “Canadians between the ages of 18 and 34 are actually substantially more likely than Canadians 35 and up to say that financial stress has lead to anxiety, depression or mental health challenges for them.”

FP Canada has released its 2022 Financial Stress Index. The results are pretty bleak. Rob speaks with Tina Tehranchian from Assante Capital Management to get a break down of the figures.

21:04 – “He was a violent man, but he was also someone who lived in the community almost his entire life. People knew him, he had been around for a long time. There was a tendency to downplay or underestimate the risk associated with him.”

Listen to Rob's full conversation with Kirsten Mercer, one of the lawyers granted standing in the coroners inquest into the infamous 2015 killings of three women living in Renfrew County.
