Teen charged after Pride crosswalk damaged in Prescott

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is charging a 16-year-old with mischief after Prescott's Pride crosswalk was vandalized.

Police say someone was seen deliberately doing burnouts with their car across the rainbow-painted crosswalk on King Street, around 7:50 p.m. on November 5, destroying its colour.

The Brockville teen is facing one count of mischief – destroys or damages property contrary to section 430(1)(a) of the Criminal Code. 

Police say the accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Youth Court of Justice in Brockville at a later date.

The OPP is thanking the public for calling in with information about the incident.
