Apartment fire claims the life of an elderly man

A senior is dead after a fire at a small apartment building in Carlington.
The Ottawa Fire Service responded to 1290 Emperor Avenue just after 6:30 p.m., Tuesday.
Ottawa police confirm to 1310 NEWS a 92-year-old man died in the blaze.
Several 911 calls reported heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the building.
Firefighters determined the fire started in the bathroom of a unit on the second floor of the building and declared it under control by 6:42 p.m.
The Fire Marshall is investigating, however police say the fire doesn't look suspicious.
