Atlético Ottawa is signing another local player to a Canadian Premier League (CPL) development contract for the remainder of the 2022 season, the team announced on Sept. 1.
A day after signing two young players, the organization is adding Anthony Domanico to the mix. A product of the Ottawa South United Club, Domanico has also been identified through the Atlético de Madrid Development Program that trains some of Ottawa-Gatineau's top up and coming Under 23 (U23) talents.
"Just like Gabriel and Omar [announced on Wednesday, Aug. 31], Anthony has shown great promise in his involvement with the development program, and we're happy to offer him this opportunity to continue with our team," said Fernando López, chief executive officer (CEO) of Atlético Ottawa. "Even in its first year of operations, the program is already having a tangible impact on the soccer development pathway in the region and we look forward to seeing all it can offer local young talented soccer players in years to come."

CPL development contracts provide amateur Under 18 (U18) players with the opportunity to be included in a professional club's roster without losing the ability to train and play with their community club.
Atlético Ottawa continue their quest for a playoff spot on Sept. 2 when they host FC Edmonton at TD Place at 7 p.m. in one of only two home matches left in the regular season.
