Bancroft OPP investigating fatal plane crash in Hastings Highlands

The Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is continuing to investigate a fatal accident involving an amateur-built aircraft, in Hastings Highlands, Ontario.

On Oct.1 shortly before 9 p.m., officers responded to an overdue person in a small aircraft. A search of the area located the aircraft, the pilot was pronounced dead a short time later.

The deceased has been identified as Jason Reynolds, 51, of Hastings Highlands Township.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing involving officers from the Bancroft Detachment, as well as the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.
