Barrhaven’s La Porto a Casa closing after 16 years in business

A popular Italian restaurant in Barrhaven is getting ready to close its doors for good.
The owners of La Porto A Casa posted a message on Facebook, Wednesday, February 17, at 11:35 a.m., saying that after 16 years they have made the difficult decision to close.
March 20 will be the restaurant's final day in service.
Owners Caroline and Ozzie say if it weren't for the pandemic, they wouldn't be closing. They explain that the past year has taken a toll on them, and with the lease coming up, they decided they needed a break.
The couple thank their customers for sharing their dream, and add that many started as customers but became friends and family.
