Basement fire displaces six residents from Greenboro home

A fire investigator has been called to determine the cause of a blaze that left six people displaced from their Taj Court home.

Six people have been displaced from their Greenboro home after a Tuesday afternoon basement fire.

Ottawa fire crews received a 911 call around 3:15 p.m. from a neighbour who reported the blaze in the basement of a home on Taj Court.

Crews entered the smoke filled home and were able to get the fire under control just after 4:00 p.m., the home was ventilated and crews checked for hot spots.

The Canadian Red Cross has been called in to assist the residents.

A investigator from the Ottawa Fire Department  has been called to help determine the cause of the fire.
