Chartwell Wedgewood Retirement Residence in Brockville declares outbreak

A resident at the Chartwell Wedgewood Retirement Residence in Brockville has tested positive for COVID-19, forcing the home to declare an outbreak.
According to a news release sent out Friday evening by the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit, the resident is now in isolation in their room and all infection management protocols are in place to prevent the spread of infection any further.
“We are working in close partnership with our local public health unit and medical director to ensure every possible step is taken to protect our residents and staff,” Julianna Swindells, general manager of the residence, said.
The Chartwell residence is located at 15 Market St. E. in Brockville, near Victoria Avenue.
No further details on the case were given.
