A City employee who works at the Sawmill Creek Community Centre in the Gloucester area has tested positive for COVID-19.
The news was sent out in an email from the recreation, cultural and facility services department to city council members Friday evening.
The employee last worked on September 24 and was asymptomatic at the time.
Upon receiving the news that a family member had tested positive, the employee went for testing on September 30.
The test came back positive on October 2.
The employee is self-isolating at home.
The department is working with Ottawa Public Health to conduct contact tracing and will be reaching out to individuals who have, or may have been, in close contact with the employee at the centre located at 3380 D'Aoust Ave. near Albion Road South, at the corner of Timbermill Street.
This is the second time the City announced that an employee has tested positive at one of its community centres on Friday. The City had reported earlier that an employee at the Pinecrest Recreation Complex also tested positive.
