City looking for organizations to suggest new lighting hues for OTTAWA ByWard Market sign

It’s time to change the colours of the ByWard Market’s OTTAWA sign on Sussex Drive— and the city is looking to highlight local charities, nonprofits and other eligible organizations with the change.
As of March 31, organizations are able to apply to illuminate the sign in the colours of their choice through the newly launched Community Lighting Program.
Applicants can visit the city’s website to learn about the eligibility requirements and how to apply.
The application process will be open until May 17.
City of Ottawa staff will evaluate each request based on a first-come, first-served basis.
Those chosen will be notified in early June, with illuminations set to start in late June.
Application periods will reopen seasonally: in late fall 2021 for illuminations in winter/spring 2022 and in spring 2022 for illuminations in summer/fall 2022.
