A south-end high school is open as usual, after a threat led to students being locked in classrooms for seven hours, Tuesday.
St. Patrick's High School on Alta Vista Drive was the target of an e-mail threat, the Ottawa Catholic District School Board said, but no other details were released about what prompted the security concern.
Students sheltered in place as the school went into secure school mode, Tuesday afternoon.
School dismissal was delayed, with students eventually allowed to leave the building in stages, supervised by Ottawa Police.
The school board says this type of incident can be very troubling to students, and encourages parents to talk with their children about what happened.
Parents with questions or concerns are asked to contact the office at St. Patrick's High School, or the office of the Superintendent at 613-224-4455 ext 2345.
