Council appoints Wendy Stephanson as interim city manager

Ottawa city council appointed the the City of Ottawa's chief financial officer, Wendy Stephanson, as its interim city manager, on Nov. 30.

Steve Kanellakos, who served as the City of Ottawa's manager for the past seven years, announced his resignation on Monday, Nov. 28.

The 2022-2026 governance review report was tabled on Nov. 30, and the report recommends the committee structure for the 2022-2026 term of council and includes amendments to various policies, by-laws and procedures.

Council will consider and adopt the report at its next meeting, on Wednesday, Dec. 7.
