Crews knock down house fire in Orléans

By Victoria Williston

Heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage of a home near Jeanne d'Arc and the Queensway prompted a number of calls to 911 Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters arrived at a home on Grenoble Crescent just before 4:30 p.m. and confirmed the blaze had spread to the home.

The fire was put out less than half an hour later.

There are no reported injuries.

The amount of damage to the home is not known.

The Canadian Red Cross and the Salvation Army are assisting those affected by this incident.

An Ottawa Fire Investigator has been called in to determine the cause.
