The city says it's working on a plan to remove waste from flooded homes once the waters recede, but that in the meantime, garbage and recycling will still be collected in flooded neighbourhoods.
Currently, regular garbage collection services continue on their usual day of the week in areas affected by flooding.
If a road is closed, collection vehicles will not enter. Residents of those streets are asked to place their garbage and recycling on the road, just outside the closure.
Once the floodwaters recede, the city says it will provide daily garbage collection in flooded neighbourhoods. Special collections for household hazardous waste, appliances and electronic waste will also be provided on a scheduled basis. More details will be announced once the flooding recedes.
Details on flood debris and sandbag collection will also be provided once the flooding threat has passed.
