Downtown intersection number one for red light camera violations in 2021

King Edward Avenue southbound at St. Patrick Street in downtown Ottawa is ranked number one for red light camera violations according to the latest data from the City of Ottawa. 

The latest data, for red light camera violations in 2021 on the City's 'Open Ottawa' site, reveals 5,868 violations were made at the downtown location in 2021, the most of any camera across the city. 

The camera at Russell Road southbound at St. Laurent Boulevard placed second with 3,184 red light violations, while Walkley Road westbound at Ryder Street and Don Reid Road followed with 2,893 red light violations. Rounding out the top five were Hunt Club Road eastbound at Downpatrick Road and McCarthy Road with 2,536 red light violations and King Edward Avenue once again, this time northbound at St. Andrew Street saw 2,529 red light violations. 

Albert Street eastbound at Booth Street, Berrigan Drive southbound at Wessex Road and Bay Street eastbound at Slater Street all had zero red light violations in 2021. 

Hawthorne Road northbound at Leitrim Road had the fewest violations in 2021 with 43. 

The data details red light violations for nearly 70 locations across the city. A total of 53,956 tickets were issued for red light violations in 2021.
