An employee at the Alexander Community Centre has been confirmed positive with the COVID-19 virus.

The news came by way of a memo from the recreational, cultural and facilities management department to city council Friday evening, adding that the employee is now self-isolating at home.

The employee last worked at the Carlington facility on March 24, the city says, but started experiencing symptoms on March 30 and presented for testing on March 31.

A positive test confirmed on April 2 that the employee was positive.

The name of the individual will not be release in order to protect their privacy.
