Golden Palace opens its doors for indoor dining

By CityNews Ottawa

Golden Palace Restaurant, known for its egg rolls, is opening its doors for the first time in more than two years.

The restaurant, located at 2195 Carling Avenue, is well known across Ottawa for its egg rolls, and has been limited to takeout since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The family owned owned restaurant welcomed back customers for indoor dining on Monday, June 13.

“COVID hit us hard and it was very challenging but we are very lucky to welcome people back,” said Bill Kwong, the owner of the Golden Palace Restaurant on The Sam Laprade Show on Tuesday, June 14.

The restaurant has been around for more than 60 years, and their famous egg rolls continue to be a hit in the community and even outside of Ottawa.

Kwong said they have been filling orders of egg rolls for sports events, weddings and more. He noted that longtime staff members have been like family, and are helping with the long awaited return of indoor dining.
