Highway 401 closed at Cheesborough Road

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are reporting dozens of vehicles stuck on Highway 401 in Gananoque forcing the closure of the major arterial highway near Cheeseborough Road.

The highway closed as conditions worsened due to the storm, OPP closed the highway Saturday morning, Dec. 24, around 2 a.m.

#LeedsOPP Highway 401 remains closed at this time.

Dozens of vehicles stuck along the highway that will need to be removed when conditions improve.

The closure is expected to remain in place until Sunday, Dec. 25.
