Injunction against truck horns extended by court, new terms added

By Dani-Elle Dubé

A court has extended an injunction against blaring truck horns in the downtown core for 60 days.

The injunction was launched by a downtown resident and was originally in effect for 10 days.

A judge also expanded the terms of the injunction, now prohibiting anyone from encouraging others to breach the order.

There have been videos online of at least one occupation organizer encouraging truckers to continue honking, and violated the court order.

The City of Ottawa was also granted a separate court injunction on Tuesday, February 15, which covered noise but also open-air fires, setting off fireworks, blocking roads and letting vehicles idle.
