Canada’s Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) confirms that Ferrero Canada, which owns and distributes Kinder brand chocolates, authorized the recall of the products mentioned above.
The recalled products have been sold nationally. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products in Canada.
Call your doctor if you become sick from consuming a recalled product. The government agency also suggests that Canadians check to see if they have the recalled products in their home.
“Food contaminated with salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick,” Canada’s government website says.
“Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea. ”
The CFIA is executing a food safety investigation and will notify the public if more recalls are made.
