Kingston police officer charged after accident involving cruiser

An investigation into a collision with a police cruiser has concluded with charges against a member of the Kingston Police.

The officer has been charged with running a red light and not wearing a seat belt. The charges were announced Friday afternoon, Feb. 24.

Around 8:45 a.m. on Jan. 30, the police SUV struck another SUV at the intersection of John Counter Boulevard and Princess Street in the Kingston neighbourhood of Cataraqui North.

The police officer driving and the three occupants of the other vehicle were all taken to hospital for assessment and were later released.
