Latest OPH data shows declining positivity levels of RSV, influenza

By CityNews Ottawa

The downwards trends seen over the past few weeks regarding the levels of respiratory viruses across the capital continue to move in the right direction in new data released by Ottawa Public Health (OPH) on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

In its latest  'Respiratory Virus Snapshot', which is now a detailed dashboard on its website  updated once a week, OPH said levels influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) are lower for the week of Feb. 12 to Feb. 18 compared to the previous week's statistics.

Positivity levels for COVID-19 are still high, with a slight uptick since the previous week's numbers were released.

The latest numbers show per cent positivity levels of 0.2 per cent for influenza (1.7 per cent from the last report) 6.4 per cent for RSV (2.6 per cent from the last report) and 11.8 per cent for COVID-19 (11.2 per cent from the last report).

There is no wastewater data for the flu or RSV this week because of the Family Day holiday.
