Local flood victims could be eligible for up to $250K in assistance from province

Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians has been activated in areas along the Ottawa River, to help residents recover costs following this year's flood.
The program can help cover clean up expenses, costs to repair or replace essential property and basic emergency expenses like evacuation travel costs.
Applying households may be eligible to receive up to $250,000 in assistance.
The province says the program is not intended to replace insurance coverage. Insurance payments are deducted from eligible costs.
Local activation areas include:
- Ottawa River (City of Ottawa East) – Application deadline: September 3, 2019
- Ottawa River (City of Ottawa West) – Application deadline: September 3, 2019
- Ottawa River (Clarence-Rockland) – Application deadline: September 3, 2019
- Ottawa River (Alfred and Plantagenet) – Application deadline: September 3, 2019
- Ottawa River (Champlain) – Application deadline: September 3, 2019
- Country of Renfrew – Application deadline: August 27, 2019
