The Canadian Football League (CFL)'s top defensive player award will be contested by the league's top two sack leaders.
Ottawa Redblacks defensive lineman Lorenzo Mauldin IV secured the East Division nod while Calgary Stampeders' Shawn Lemon (second overall with 14 sacks, career-high 29 tackles) is the West Division nominee.
Mauldin set the Redblacks single-season record with his league-leading 17 sacks, 43 defensive tackles, and a pair of forced fumbled while appearing in all 18 games for Ottawa. Mauldin also set a new career high for sacks in a single game, recording three against the BC Lions on Sept. 30.
The CFL's awards banquet will be held Nov. 17 in Regina.
