UPDATE: Highway 416 southbound closure in south end reopened following milk truck rollover

By Dani-Elle Dubé

A person was transported to hospital after a transport truck rolled over just past Carsonby in the area’s south end.

Emergency services were called to the southbound portion of Highway 416 at Roger Stevens Drive on the morning of Saturday, April 23 after a transport truck hauling milk had rolled over.

Firefighters said they assessed and treated the single occupant who was able to get out of the vehicle on their own.

Ottawa paramedics took over and the patient was transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Fire crews contained the milk leaks and crates while tech rescue moved the front of the truck out of the way to open traffic.

OPP closed the road to conduct their investigation and continue with the cleanup, however, as of Saturday night, OPP tweeted that the road was reopened.
