OCSB to debate raising Pride flag in June

The Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) will debate flying the Pride flag on its property for the first time.
The motion will go before the board during its meeting on Tuesday, May 25, and if passed, would allow the rainbow flag to be flown at the board's headquarters on Hunt Club Road during Pride month in June.
It would also allow all OCSB schools to fly the Pride flag in the future, with the installation of second flagpoles proposed for all schools.
The Canadian Flag would fly on the main pole, while the Pride flag would fly on the second pole every year in June. The OCSB flag would fly on the second pole during all other months of the year.
The proposal comes after multiple Toronto-area catholic school boards debated the idea earlier this month and the motions passed.
The board meeting takes place virtually, starting at 7 p.m.
