OPP identify victim in Pembroke suspicious death

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have identified the victim in a suspicious death investigation in Pembroke. 

Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the OPP responded to an incident in a downtown apartment on Friday, May 27.

The deceased has been identified as Justin Walker, 32, of Pembroke, and a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

As a result of the investigation into the death, John Dagenais, 31, of Pembroke, faces a charge of obstructing police.

The accused was scheduled to appear in a Pembroke court on Saturday, May 28.

The investigation is ongoing and police say there is no concern for public safety.
