Ontario sees increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations

Ontario is reporting a bump in COVID-19 hospitalizations on March 31, with 807 patients in hospital compared to 778 one day earlier.
The number of COVID-19 patients in intensive care units (ICU) went up by one, to 166.
The province recorded 3,139 new cases of COVID-19 today, an increase of roughly 11 per cent when 2,814 cases were revealed on March 30.
Ontario's top doctor has said the actual number is likely 10 times higher than the daily log since access to PCR testing is restricted.
Wastewater monitoring suggests cases have been on the rise since early to mid-March.
The test positivity rate today is 16 per cent, compared to 15.1 per cent yesterday.
Ottawa Public Health (OPH) is reporting one new death because of COVID-19 today, with nine people in the hospital because of the virus. There are no people in the ICU.
On March 30, OPH reported no new deaths because of COVID-19 and eight people in hospital who have contracted the virus. There were no individuals in ICU because of COVID-19.
