Ottawa airport gets new direct destination

One day after United Airlines announced that is was pulling its direct flights from Ottawa to Newark next year, YOW has added a non-stop Lufthansa flight between Ottawa and Frankfurt.
There is currently a seasonal an Air Canada flight between the two cities that runs until October 24.
The capital becomes the fourth destination in Canada serviced by the German airline.
Booking opens Wednesday for the Ottawa-Frankfurt flights, which begin next year on May 16.
At the same time, Air Canada has announced it's upgrading its year-round Ottawa-London flight.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner will take over that route starting March 29.
If you book that destination you can now upgrade to a signature cabin which features lie-flat suites.
There is also a premium economy cabin choice.
