By Mike Vlasveld

One person has been treated for minor injuries after a house fire on David Manchester Road, south of Carp.

Fire crews responded to the blaze at 1:32 p.m., Monday, after getting a call from a neighbour went to check on three cats inside the home and discovered fire.

The flames were eventually brought under control at 2:49 p.m., but not before almost completely destroying the home.

The three cats have yet to be accounted for.

Ottawa police had David Manchester Road closed between Old Almonte Road and McGee Sde Road, but it has since been re-opened.

Fire officials will be investigating to determine what caused the blaze and how much damage has been caused.
