Ottawa firefighters extinguish blaze on 8th Line Road in Metcalfe

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) says four people are being treated by paramedics after a fire at a home on 8th Line Road in Metcalfe.

The OFS says the first firefighter arrived on scene at 10:26 a.m., Friday, January 22, and helped the homeowner to evacuate their smoke-filled garage.

The extent of treatment needed to be administered by paramedics to the four at the home is not yet known.

The fire is under control, but 8th Line Road is closed in both directions, between Pana Road and Forest Green Crescent, while firefighters shuttle water to the scene.

Investigators will work to determine what caused the fire and how much damage has been done to the property.
