Ottawa police board set to discuss possibility of electric cruisers

By CityNews Ottawa

Electric police cars may be coming to the City of Ottawa.

The Ottawa Police Services Board is set to discuss a pilot project request from the city, Monday, February 22.

The board will ask Chief Peter Sloly to work with Ottawa and its zero-emission vehicle infrastructure program to determine if a pilot project could be implemented.

Chief Sloly must determine if electric police vehicles are operationally feasible.

The police board meets virtually at 4 p.m.

The public can watch the meeting online through the Ottawa City Council YouTube Channel.
