Ottawa Public Library extends Main, Rideau branch closures

By Chris Stoodley

Ottawa Public Library (OPL) is extending the closures at two branches due to traffic disruptions from the ongoing “Freedom Convoy” protests.

The Main branch at 120 Metcalfe St. and the Rideau branch at 377 Rideau St. will both remain closed until Monday, February 7.

Due to the closures, expiry dates for hold items and due dates for material borrowed at both branches have been extended.

The closest alternative OPL locations that will be open include:

  • St-Laurent at 515 Côté St.
  • Vanier at 310 Pères Blancs Ave.
  • Sunnyside at 1049 Bank St.
  • Rosemount at 18 Rosemount Ave.

Library services will also be available on OPL's website and virtual branch.
