Ottawa tornado relief efforts could get boost with West Carleton Warriors’ Good Deeds Cup win

The West Carleton Warriors jumped into action immediately after tornadoes hit Ottawa and Gatineau on September 21, to help effected residents, and now the team could do even more for the cause.

The hockey team, made up of boys between the ages of 11 and 13, have fundraised and assisted those who lost everything in the 2018 storm, and those efforts have landed it in the final three for the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup.

The other two finalists include the Pionniers de Lanaudière of Quebec and the KV Devils of New Brunswick. More than 300 teams were entered in the Good Deeds Cup competition.

Each of the final teams have already won $5,000 for the charities of their choosing, as well as prize packages for their players.

Chevrolet, Hockey Canada and Chevrolet Hockey Ambassadors Mitch Marner, Caroline Ouellette and Harnarayan Singh will decide who will be the 2019 Good Deeds Cup Champions on March 2.
