Riding the rails today will be a challenge as VIA Rail announced it has suspended a number of Ontario and Quebec train routes until further notice due to protestors.

Saturday train service between Montreal and Toronto and between Ottawa and Toronto is affected. None of the trains on these two routes will operate until the issue is resolved, the company said on their website.

The disruption is due to Wet’suwet’en First Nation protestors currently blocking tracks near Belleville.

The following routes will be impacted: 40, 42, 44, 45, 47, 50, 52, 53, 59, 60, 61, 62, 64, 65, 66, 641, 643, 645, 668, 669.

Refunds will be automatically refunded to those affected by the service disruption within 10 days.
