Quinte West OPP seize drugs, weapons during traffic stop in Trenton

One driver is facing multiple charges after drugs and weapons were seized by officials in Trenton. 

On Sunday, Nov. 6, at approximately 2:45 a.m., the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop of a suspicious vehicle on Couch Crescent in Centennial Park.

While speaking with the driver, officers observed suspected cocaine inside the vehicle.

The driver was asked to step out of the vehicle and officers observed a handgun between the driver's seat and the door. The accused was arrested, and following a search, the handgun was determined to be an imitation firearm.  A quantity of suspected cocaine and crystal methamphetamine, along with a collapsible baton was also seized. 

Brayden Bunnet, 20 years old of Belleville, was charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a schedule, substance – cocaine
  • Possession of a schedule, substance – methamphetamine
  • Possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Dec. 12.
