Residents asked to provide input into response of ‘Freedom Convoy’

By CityNews Ottawa

The City of Ottawa's auditor general is hosting two virtual public consultations next week as part of her audit into the City’s response to the 'Freedom Convoy' protest.

The public consultations will take place on the following days:

“These consultations are aimed at helping our office gain a better understanding of how residents were impacted during the protest and how, if any, City services and programs could have been improved,” a post on the auditor general’s website said on July 4.

The Ottawa Police Services Board voted in late March of 2022 asking Nathalie Gougeon, the City of Ottawa's auditor general, to perform an audit on the convoy response.

Individuals who wish to speak must register with the office of the auditor general beforehand.  Instructions to register can be found at the Engage Ottawa page.  Following the virtual sessions, recordings of each session will be made available at www.oagottawa.ca and Engage Ottawa.
