Rick Chiarelli undergoing testing after more complications stemming from 2019 surgery

College Ward City Councillor Rick Chiarelli is back in hospital.
His office's director of strategic affairs and communications says he was taken to hospital by ambulance earlier this week and was admitted.
The director further explains that Chiarelli's been undergoing extensive testing, and results show further complications which seem to have arisen from those he experienced for several months following his open-heart quadruple bypass surgery in December of 2019.
In the meantime, Chiarelli's office says the councillor remains committed to participating virtually in previously scheduled budget meetings, as his health permits.
