Shawville Fair cancelled due to COVID-19

There will be no Shawville Fair this year.
Quebec's Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food cancelled all agricultural events for 2020, late last week, including fairs, due to the fear of spreading COVID-19.
Shawville Fair directors say it is with heavy hearts that they have to cancel their event.
“The cancellation of the fair is not done lightly. This decision is made by the need to keep our fair visitors, exhibitors and volunteers safe,” said Pontiac Agricultural Society President Charleen Moore.
Organizers plan to proceed with the fair in 2021.
